The Fourth is here.

Here it is–the 4th of July. The toughest holiday for me. I’ve recently explained that this holiday was the one where I would always over drink and spend a good amount of money on alcohol. Throughout my therapy, I’ve discussed this holiday with my therapist explaining how the fear of missing out (FOMO) is a real thing. I’ll be missing out on the activities in Chicago and Vegas, the two cities you’d always find me in during this time. But–I’m finally mentally secure with the fact that I will be missing these activities. I’ve recently found out that there is so much more to life than hopping on that Merry-go-round that at first seems fun, until you realize you’re doing and seeing the same things over and over again. So I decided to hop off, and that has been one of the greatest decisions I’ve ever made.

So, I’m prepared for this holiday. I’m prepared for what’s to come and I hope you are too. There’s so much more to life than the mirage alcohol creates.

Create your own happiness.
